Learning Objectives for this week are the following: Going to the sea-side
Pre-schoolers:
To be able to talk to the other children when playing, and will communicate freely about home and community
Toddlers:
To be able to form a special friendship with another child
Babies:
To be able to play alongside others or be able to build relationship with special people
“When spending time with your children, encourage critical thinking in different ways, this will enable children to analyse, compare and make sense of information”.
Role-play:
Ice-cream vendor (van, supermarket, gelato stall)
Small world:
sea-life, dollies, diggers, zoo animals, people having picnic
Construction:
Wooden Blocks, Legos, Mega blocks, Train tracks, tinker toys
Creative:
Drawing faces, drawing a sea ,blue, brown beach, what can children think of when they are at the sea side
Literacy:
Water Story Book, Teddy’s Bear Picnic, Pip & Posy
Vocabulary:
Ice cream, sea, sand, sea water, ocean, shells
Mark making:
chalk, paint, crayons, writing names etc.
Maths:
counting sea shells, money etc.
Communication & Language through Circle time:
Introduce Routines e.g. circle time, home time, snack time etc. Talk about Our Golden Rules. “Sharing is caring” Develop language, singing songs: number songs, action songs and rhymes
Sensory Activities:
Individual sensory play Coloured rice, coral, shells, etc.
Physical:
Indoor – Bowling, Basketball, Action songs, Parachute
Investigation:
where will you like to go on a holiday, would you go to a sea-side, texture/colour of a sand/sea.
ICT:
Interactive Table, Cash tills, telephone, writing pad, laptops, musical toys
Outdoor:
Mud kitchen, Balancing Beams, Bikes, and Rockers, Balancing on the Climbing Frame, Sand Pit, and Water Tray.
