Little Stars Expertise

Young children learn best through play-based approaches rather than through formal teaching. Play supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development, and helps them learn to co-operate, negotiate and overcome various challenges. Little Stars Preschool has activities that incorporate the areas of development, play, rest and meals. The weekly newsletter will inform parents of what their child has been learning that week, and also what they will be doing the following week, and also provide details of activities parents can follow-up with at home. As each family has individual requirements, we work with parents to incorporate their child’s routines and requirements into their daily routine in the setting (such as daily nap-times). The weekly schedules are also clearly visible for parents on our notice board, where parents can also find information about local community events and partnerships we have with the community.

We offer a range of extra-curricular activities, included in the fees at no extra cost.

Zumba for Kids: Perfect for our young Zumba fans! Children 2-4 years old get the chance to socialize with friends and jam out to their favourite songs. Zumba kids’ classes are rock in dance with child-friendly routines. We break down steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class routine. Zumba helps children to develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of their lives. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements such as respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, balance, and cultural awareness.

Cookery Sessions: Perfect for our young children aged 2-4 years old to get the chance of exploring cooking equipment and learning to take risks by using child friendly knives, folks, spoons etc to make their delicious food such as fruits salads, salads, vegetable rice, baking cakes and many more. For this class we plan activities based on festivals such as Valentine’s day, Chinese festival, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Diwali, Ede, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and many more.

Music and Movement: Perfect for our young children of all ages (3 months to 4 years). M & M instruction has been shown to improve children’s memory, cognitive development, learning skills and expressive ability. Integrates physical, cognitive, social and emotional learning domains for a whole-child approach to learning. In this class children enjoy fun, music, singing and movements with the help of their teacher and musical instruments.

Sensory Sessions: Perfect for our young children of all ages (3 months to 4 years). These sessions feature in themed activities to excite and stimulate our little ones based within our special sensory room. Each session involves singing, actions, sign language, sensory lights, bubbles, bouncing balloons and exploration of natural interest bags, bottles and boxes to delight our little stars.

Yoga: Perfect for our young children of all ages (3 months to 4 years). These classes bring stories to life through specially developed moves inspired by yoga. Combining fun with exercise, children go on sea adventures where they swim like a fish, farm adventures where they may baa like a sheep and wild adventures where they may roar like a lion or blast into outer space. Balancing postures help children to focus their mind and concentration techniques keep the mind in one place instead of letting it wander.

Each of our rooms have further structured timetables and weekly planning to meet the specific development requirements of the age group.
